19. 5 minute hair

hello, children 🙂

Today I present to you a five-minute, foolproof style that works with almost any length and type of hair. It’s perfect for when you’re in a rush and need to get out the door, or those days when you can’t be bothered to put effort into doing your hair but still want it to look presentable.

To do this, you will need:

A hair elastic (or hair tie, whatever you want to call it) Some bobby pins

A hair clip (I’m using a smaller size, but you can go with one of the bigger ones if you want)

What to do:

Step 1 – Pull your hair back into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic. I like to gather my hair not right at the base of my hairline, but maybe an inch or so above. With my hair, I feel like this is more secure for when I pull it back in the next few steps.

Step 2 – Twist the length of the ponytail (this might be harder if you have layered hair) and lay the twist on the back of your head (that sounds weird, but I’m not sure how else to describe this) and hold it there with a hand.

Step 3 – Grab your clip and secure it around the upper part of the twist, making sure to grab any loose strands if you want a tighter look. If you like it messier, then you can pull out some pieces of hair, or just start out by making a looser twist.

Step 4 – With your bobby pins, pin the twist into place. This is important especially if you have thicker hair—the clips don’t stay in for very long, and adding some pins will help keep it in place for longer.

This is an extremely fast hairstyle—might I say under 5 minutes?—and I keep a clip with me at all times in case I want to pull my hair up in a rush. I should probably get back to finishing up my homework, so goodbye until next Sunday!
